Meeting our house for the first time

1st July

We made a quick visit to QLD to visit the house, which was great. Progress was where we thought it would be. The rooms looked and felt much different in person than what we have been looking at on the plans. We had an independant inspector from KSpec come and do his insopection, he found a few minor defects, and a missing structural beam which was a tad concerning, but the Site Supervisor advised all would be completed this week.
We did find our hose outlet was moved without our knowledge to the rear of the house in the middle which was a real eye sore, however the supervisor also advised that this would be recitified and put back to the side of the house.
Supervisor advised that wrapping was to be finished by 9/7/2105. Gyprocking and internals to follow.

We have a Slab!!!

23rd May 2015

Much to our surpise our neighbour sent through a photo of our slab down a whole 2 days ahead of schedule! so exciting to see it all taking shape, we wish we were there to see it ourselves but photos will have to do for now…We Were advised by our CSC and SS that the frames were also scheduled to go up this week, however there is some backfilling that needs to be done so frames will be delivered and constructed next week (fingers crossed).

Site Works

13th May 2015

We were super excited to find out that site works were finally able to start on our block,
We had 2x retaining walls constructed on the block prior to site works as per clarendons request (odd we know) this turns out to be quite the stuff up as we learn later one of the retaining walls was actually not needed, and torn down by Clarendon. Our csc advises of pierring, surveyors, and draining dates….all pending weather of course.
Studying the weather forecasts seems to be a new past time.
